14th Anniversary / Aradhana of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr.Sheik Chinna Moulana was conducted on 12th &13th April 2013 by the Trust amidst all devotion and dedication. The function started with the invocation of Akeela & Aneesha the great grand daughters of the Nadhaswaram maestro. Shri.K.V.Rangaswamy, Advisor to the Chairman, Larsen & Toubro, who presided over the function dwelt on the friendship between Dr.Sheik Chinna Moulana and Ustat Bismillah Khan and Moulana’s significant role in national integration. He also applauded the Trust for its sustained efforts in acknowledging senior indigent Nadhaswaram/Thavil artistes. The chief Guest Sh.N.S.Sekar, Vice-president, SuccessFactors, Bangalore traced the milestones of Moulan’s life with a lively PowerPoint presentation. Dr.Sheik Chinna Moulana is the inspiration for the present day students, Sekar said.
In keeping with tradition, Shradhdhanjali- the annual tribute by the Chinnamoulana memorial Trust, honoured the senior Nadhaswaram artiste Sh.M.Ganesa Pillai (86) from Idayur, Thiruvarur Dist and the senior Thavil artiste Achalpuram Sh.S.Sankaran (75) from Achalpuram, Nagapatnam District were honoured with the purse of Rs.10,000/- each, shawl and Citation.
Continuing its practice of presenting Nadhaswaram musical instruments to the deserving poor students, the Trust presented two Nadhaswaram instruments to two students learning Nadhaswaram music.
Ranjani – Gayatri enthralled the audience of the day with their soulful musical homage on April 12th evening. Sheshambatti Sh.T.Sivalingam presented his Nadhaswaram concert on April 13th 2013.
